WHY I’M RUNNING FOR PITTSFORD TOWN JUDGE… I believe Pittsford folks should be able to depend on their town judges to help keep them safe. If elected Town Judge, I will NOT be controlled by any political party; my loyalty is to fairness and upholding the integrity of the law. A fair but firm judgment in any case reflects a balance between compassion, the rule of law, and most importantly, basic common sense. Each case requires consideration of the nature of the offense by gauging its seriousness. Sometimes good people make unfortunate mistakes which does not warrant “throwing the book” at them. On the other hand, certain crimes need to be taken very seriously as in the Tobey Road murder / suicide case that occurred in the fall of 2023. My 24 years of legal experience, including working with the extremely intelligent and distinguished Justices of the Appellate Division, has prepared me very well to assess each case and treat it appropriately. I credit the valuable trial experience I gained as a prosecutor which I believe enabled me to succeed in private practice. I also believe my extensive courtroom experience provides me with the perfect background for my current work as an appellate lawyer in the court system and to serve as Town Judge.
WHO I AM…… I was born in Queens New York and grew up on Eastern Long Island in a town called Miller Place which is not too different than Pittsford. I spent my summers making money as a New York State Certified baseball umpire and working as a bus boy and waiter. My wife and I met in 1996 in college at S.U.N.Y Oswego. We’ve been married for 22 years. After 14 years of living downstate, where we began our careers and our family, I feel fortunate and grateful to have relocated to Pittsford a decade ago. I continue to be amazed at the quality of life here which, as many know is much easier and, in my opinion, more enjoyable than life near New York City, not to mention much less expensive – and hardly any traffic compared to downstate! In fact, the first few years that I lived here, I arrived early to every place I went; what a relief to realize I could drive virtually anywhere in 15-20 minutes. I’m also grateful for Pittsford’s commitments to its youth through its highly nationally ranked schools, its agricultural heritage through its Greenprint, to families through amazing parks and recreational areas, and for our very responsive and caring town government who is continuously making improvements. Finally, I’m grateful for all the friends I’ve made here. People in Rochester are well known to be welcoming and friendly. I would certainly agree with that, especially in Pittsford. If elected as the next Pittsford Town Judge, the safety of our residents and all parties in each case, as well as the preservation of our quality of life will be my top priorities.
